Chava Evans is a board member at Congregation Netivot Shalom as well as a teacher and community leader in Baltimore, MD. Chava received a B.A. in Religion from Brown University. She is the recipient of the James Manning Medal for Excellence in Religious Studies and a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar. She also trained as a painter and illustrator in both Israel and the United States, holds an M.F.A from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and worked for many years as a freelance illustrator and artist. Chava has learned at the Nishmat Center for Advanced Torah Study and with various private study partners (some at the Conservative Yeshiva.)She is eager to combine her studies at Yeshivat Maharat with her interest in curriculum development, educational publishing, and pedagogy. She lives in Baltimore, MD with her husband Dr. Mark Drezde and their daughters, Gilah Channah and Hadar Chassia.
