Welcome to the Ninety Eighth episode of Daily Daf Differently. In this episode, Rabbi Steve Kane looks at Masechet Shabbat Daf 99. Shabbat 99a-b begins with a midrashic comment on the difference between a wise hearted woman and a woman whose heart inspires wisdom. The rest of the page continues the discussion of transferring objects from one domain to another. Here we try to define why the gemarrah is so concerned with the concept of well-defined boundaries.
Rabbi Steven Kane is the spiritual leader of Congregation Sons of Israel. Rabbi Kane was ordained at JTS and holds a Master’s Degree in Judaic Studies and a Bachelor of Hebrew Literature degree from the University of Judaism as well as a BA from Washington University in St. Louis.
The opening and closing music for this podcast is Ufros from The Epichorus album One Bead.
