Welcome to the Hundred and Sixty Second episode of Daily Daf Differently. In this episode, Rabbi Joshua Heller looks at Masechet Eruvin Daf 7.
On this daf, we start with a discussion of a street shaped like a U, and how we turn it into a private space for purposes of carrying on Shabbat. Along the way, we ask when happens when you have two legal approaches, each of which gives you yes to some answers and no to others. Can you be inconsistent, and combine all the “no” answers from each approach, or the “yes” answers from each?
Rabbi Joshua Heller is the Senior Rabbi of Congregation B’nai Torah in Sandy Springs, and chair of the rites and rituals subcommittee of the Conservative Movement’s Committee on Jewish Law and Standards.
The opening and closing music for this podcast is Ufros from The Epichorus album One Bead.
