About Sarah Shulman

Sarah Shulman is the Education Director at Temple Ramat Zion in Northridge, California as well as a rabbinical student at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles. A native of Seattle, Washington, Sarah attended Stanford University where she received a BA in Human Biology and a minor in Creative Writing. After college, Sarah completed the Day School Leadership through Teaching (DeLeT) fellowship and taught general and Judaic studies for six years before following her passion for Jewish education and service to rabbinical school. Sarah has worked for a variety of Jewish institutions, including Hazon, American Jewish World Service, Ramah, and several synagogues. Sarah is married to Nathaniel Bankirer, who shares her love for the outdoors and Jewish education—they met while working at an outdoor adventure summer camp in Colorado.
