Magic Number(s)

In this episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay talks about listening to The Freakanomics Podcast where they talked about their Twitter followers. This got him to think about why he cares about the numbers of followers he has on Twitter, and how many Facebook fans he has.

Although the ethos of Facebook is don’t ask for friends, fundraisers say “If you don’t ask, they won’t give”, so this episode, we are asking you to “like” us on Facebook follow us on Twitter and write a review of one (or more) of our shows on iTunes.

The opening and closing music in this weeks episode is Magic Number off of 3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul.

Mission Critical

In the twenty eighth episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay talks about some work that he has been doing lately on a number of grant proposals for JCast Network, and something that he realized while in the midst of completing the application.

While working on the application, Darone realized that what he had been calling the projects “mission” is actually their “activities”, and finally Darone realized what the true mission of JCast Network is.

Darone asks the listener, what do you call your “activity statement” if not your mission? Please share your thoughts.

The opening and closing music in this weeks episode is Working On A Dream by Bruce Springsteen.

I Need (to be) A Hero

In the twenty-sixth episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay talks about something that was delivered by a uniformed representative of the Federal government today. Yes, the mailman dropped off a piece of mail from The Jewish Federations of North America, that recognized his participation in The Jewish Community Heroes program.

Darone then discusses what it is about projects like this one, and the many lists that are made of the movers and shakers in the Jewish community that everyone finds so fascinating. Why is it that we all think that the lists are silly, yet have so many opinions about who IS and who IS NOT included on the list (and especially, why we are not included.)

As this weeks homework, Darone pleads with you, his audience to visit JCastNetwork.org/iTunes to write a review on any and all of the JCast Network shows that you listen to and enjoy. In addition to number of subscribers, reviews are very important in determining which shows iTunes will promote. Please review our shows.

The opening and closing music in this weeks episode is Holding Out For A Hero by Bonnie Tyler.
