Ira Wise
Ira J. Wise, R.J.E. has been blogging about Jewish Education since 2009 and he has been teaching about it a lot longer. He has been the Director of Education at Congregation B’nai Israel in Bridgeport, CT since 1995. He also serves as mentor to his colleagues in theLeadership Institute, a program of professional learning for synagogue educators run jointly by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and sponsored by the UJA-Jewish Federation of New York. Ira is a Jim Joseph Foundation Fellow with the Lookstein Institute for Jewish Education in the Diaspora at Bar Ilan University. He is a member of theNational Association of Temple Educators and has developed and continues to facilitate and online Community of Practice (CoP) for its membership. He also serves as co-leader of the NATE Communications Team. Ira has consulted with several congregations, helping teachers and directors learn how to use web 2.0 technology in their teaching and professional practice.
